Chapter One: 

Twiki Maize the Majestic!

Twiki Maize is our 4 mth old, 1.5 lb, gray tiger kitten.  She loves two things: Corn (any form will do) and Play…She’s a really crazzzy gal!

Yesterday, we had the front door open to allow some air through the house.  Up until now, she’s never even considered coming near the door.  It was just something that Mom and Dado disappeared through all the time.  Well, yesterday, she discovered it had it’s benefits.  I was standing at the counter pruning a potato and I heard a crash and crinkle.  I turned around, and here she was, hanging on the door.  She looked like a Kilroy in reverse!  Just hanging out there on the screen protector admiring the world as it passed by.

How often do stand and admire the world as it passes? How often do we just hang on the fringes without taking action or searching out something new? 

Twiki had no idea that there was something else besides her sheltered home until yesterday.  Twiki was like a lot of us who’ve become so comfortable within our christian walk, that we’ve forgotten that we must “hang on the screen” to push our faith into a new and glorious realm of the world.

his feet firmly rooted

strong against winds

deeply drinking of hidden waters

buried deep beneath its shaded canopy

He reached with gently fingers

to play in the gurgling brook

immortal is He, never will He fade

His love for this place

for His creation

endures forever.

“I Lived a Normal Life”

I lived a normal life
I lived an average life
that was before –
before I met HIM…

I met him on a cold shaggy decrepit night
cowering beneath the overpass shivering from cold
hungry within and within again
his eyes were wont with desires and wants
that extended into the eternal.

I lived a normal life
I lived an average life
that was before –
before I met HIM…

I met him on a hot humidly sticky day
standing guard in desert heat, stinky with sweat
thirsty for water, thirsty for blood
his eyes were cold hard steely desires and wants
that extended into the eternal

I lived a normal life
I lived an average life
that was before –
before I met HIM…

I met him on a wet dreary smelly dog day
standing oblivious in torrential rains
his clothes drenched clinging hurting within without
his eyes filled to brimming with desires and wants
that extended into the eternal

I lived a normal life
I lived an average life
that was before –
before I met HIM…

Now, I walk with HIM on nights of frigid cold
Now I walk with HIM on days the temperature soars
Now, I walk with HIM in rain and storm
Together, we touch the souls along the way
lost people cowering in corners, scared lonely afraid
Guards out on patrol praying for cease fire peace
Souls crying out with excrutiating pain
their eyes filled with desires and wants
that extend into the eternal

I lived a normal life
I lived an average life

before I met HIM…

I came to him quite easy
My head bowed in my hand
A quiet time upon the hill
The silhouette of his love
In stark contrast to the evening sky.
He spoke to me in whispers
My fears he did dispel
He touch my soul with gentleness
Old wounds and scars he healed
I came to him quite easy
With humble words
My head bowed in my hand.

The hymn resounds
its echo deafening
among the throng
each voice in part
in perfect harmony
We long for that day
when all will sing
in the joy of the spirit
in the presence of our Lord!

We go where we are called
not by own spirit
but by the urging of a Holy Spirit
Speaking and moving deep within
Drawing out from our souls
the intentional will of God

Our journey
so unintentionally seen by us
totally intentioned by God
intent to guide his children forward
deeper and deeper into the abyss
like a light into the darkness of night

His love, his intention
we journey in his plan
unintentional meetings
unintentional words
totally intentioned by God.

I wish for you, my friend
a journey of unintent!
